Now, I’m studying computer science—yeah, a big leap from sushi knives and cocktail shakers. But I found something I genuinely enjoy in programming: building things, solving problems, and always learning something new. It clicked for me, so I decided to go all in and pursue the degree. Different tools, same drive.

    • I used to serve omakase and old fashioneds. Now I serve functions and for-loops.
    • Late nights at the bar taught me endurance. Debugging at 2 a.m. just builds on that.

    Bar
    Bartender

After leaving the sushi world, I found myself on the other side of the counter—behind the bar. It wasn’t just about mixing drinks; it was about reading the room, holding a vibe, and knowing when to listen or when to pour fast. The pace was wild, the nights were long, and I loved the rhythm of it—until I didn’t. I moved on, but the sharp instincts and people skills stayed with me.

    • I can still pour a perfect pint with my eyes closed.
    • No, I won’t judge your drink order (unless it’s a Long Island at 11 a.m.).

    Japanese Restaurant
    Sushi chef

I spent years behind the sushi bar—slicing fish, rolling rice, and obsessing over the tiny details that turn food into an experience. The high-pressure kitchen taught me precision, patience, and how to stay cool when it counts. But over time, I realized that path wasn’t mine. I’ve since hung up the apron, but I bring that same focus and creativity into everything I do now.

    • Want me to make sushi for you? Bring me your fish!
    • Fun fact: crab stick isn’t crab. It’s fish pretending to be crab.
